An Efficient Quasigroup Block Cipher
نویسندگان
چکیده
Low powered devices, such as smart phones, tablets and sensors, present a particular challenge for advanced encryption systems. In this paper, we present a new quasigroup block encryption system that has low memory and computational requirements and hence suitable for low powered devices. We compare its performance against Advanced Encryption Standard-256 (AES-256) bit algorithm using theNIST statistical test suite (NIST-STS). Since it is well known that a good encryption algorithm must destroy any statistical properties of the input sequence and produce output close to a true random sequence, the NIST-STS suite results provide us a good test bench. In almost all tests from the suite, the proposed algorithm performs better than AES-256.

Cryptanalysis and Improvements of the Quasigroup Block Cipher
This article presents results on the cryptanalysis of a quasigroup block cipher, which was previously proposed. The quasigroup block cipher provides an attractive encryption system for resource constrained environments. Here, we identify the “odd-bit” and “identical-word” problems with the cipher and recommend configurations of the QGBC to counter these. Following this analysis, we propose an i...
متن کاملResearch, Implementation and Application of the SQBC Block Cipher in the Area of Encrypting Images
The application of block ciphers in the modern society is enormous. One branch of this development is getting a new dimension – the application of quasigroups and quasigroup transformations in the block ciphers. This paper contains the results of the research involving the family of block ciphers named SQBC (Small Quasigroup Block Cipher), which is based on quasigroups and quasigroup transforma...
متن کاملBlock Cipher Based on Randomly Generated Quasigroups
Quasigroups are algebraic structures closely related to Latin squares which have many different applications. The construction of block cipher is based on quasigroup string transformation. This article describes a block cipher based Quasigroup of order 256, suitable for fast software encryption of messages written down in universal ASCII code. The novelty of this cipher lies on the fact that ev...
متن کاملQuasigroup representation of some lightweight block ciphers
Most of the lightweight block ciphers are build as S-P networks or Feistel networks, their generalization or variations. We represent the lightweight Feistel ciphers GOST and MIBS, and Generalized Feistel cipher Skipjack by quasigroup string transformations. For obtaining suitable representation we use the fact that Feistel round functions that are bijections can be considered as orthomorphisms...
متن کاملMultivariate Quadratic Trapdoor Functions Based on Multivariate Quadratic Quasigroups
We have designed a new class of multivariate quadratic trapdoor functions. The trapdoor functions are generated by quasigroup string transformations based on a class of quasigroups called multivariate quadratic quasigroups (MQQ). The public key schemes using these trapdoor functions are bijective mappings, they do not perform message expansions and can be used both for encryption and signatures...
